This cute little bee dish is hand made in several steps.
First the bee is crafted and fused in my kiln, reaching 800 degrees centigrade, the wings are made at the same time as well as the little beads. They are then assembled onto a white square of glass, 8cm by 8cm with spring green and yellow glass powders sifted over some of the surface.
The dichroic beads are added to add a little bling and the dish is fired again to 765 degrees to fuse it together.
The third time in the kiln is to allow the glass to soften just enough over a mould, at 640 degrees, creating the shallow dish.
These make for perfect gifts for anyone, bringing fun and a hint of summer into your home.
